Gizmo

It has been brought to my attention that I have neglected to include our Gizmo in my postings . . .

Let me introduce you to our not-so-recent pug addition, or should I say addiction?

Puppy Love

We have a new member of the household!

Yep, welcome Jack - the mini schnauzer...

...he may be little in body, but he is packed full of character! From tearing around the house with a corner of a rug in his mouth, begging the cats to play and just charming everyone with every little tilt of his head.

Lex is in heaven. On the way home from dance Friday she asked me if I knew why she kept laughing in her head: "because I get to go see Jack!"

Before we get our hopes up too much, I have to say that he is just one loan from my sister. He had gotten into some bad habits and we are trying to break him of them by changing his location. But, it very well could turn out to be on a more permanent basis. I just have to get thinking of what to do when I go back to work - it's a bit much to think about and I do get overwhelmed. But then he will hop up on my lap or tilt his head and just look at me - irresistable.

To dog or not to dog?

Okay, so that is a weird way of saying it ;)

I have recently succumbed to the puppy dog eyes of not one but TWO chihuahua's!

My dilemna... HOW in the world am I ever going to be there for these two adorable characters?!

I just work way too much and with that dear DH hi-tailing it out of here for that all too 'wonderful' place called Iraq, how am I to care for these little tykes?

As much as I have fallen in love with these cuties, I'm afraid I'm going to have to say no to keeping them. It's breaking my heart.

These two were dropped of at the Humane Society a few weeks ago. DH found them when he was going there to get the now 7 mo. old kitten 'altered', he saw that they had these chihuahuas. When I inquired about them, I was talked into a week trial with them.

Now it's decision time. To keep or to not keep.

Do I dare send them back to the possibility of being put to sleep???? Can I care for them the way they need to be cared for?

Don't get me wrong, they are practically perfect. They hold it in until I get home - no messes. They are absolute cuddle bugs. They are not yappy or hyper. They are in a word - adorable.

But, can I provide them with all the love they need?

Please chime in - do tell me what you would do - please?

Sick Day

My poor baby, she is so sick today.

On Sunday, Lex told me, 'My tummy feels all wombly'

So when she still felt a bit 'wombly' yesterday I suspected she was coming down with something. Unfortunately when I tried to make her stay home from school she got so upset...

'But what if they pick the Student of the Day and it's me, but I'm not there!'

...that it was not worth the fight.

Well, I really should have stuck to my guns, but hindsight is always 20/20 they say.

Today, it's after 11:30 and look here - photos taken just moments ago - STILL ASLEEP!

...singing you purr-song until you are on the recuperative road.

Soon I'll get Lex up, fed, bathed and then get out the Vicks Vapo-rub for a good rubdown, dose her up with Tylenol and Decongestants again and I bet she sleeps the day away.
